Vacation time in a couple of weeks. The wife and I are going to Idaho and visit the factory. After living in SoCal all my life and not visiting the factory while it was in San Diego. I am finally making the pilgrimage.
Hopefully I can get a tour and maybe pick up a few new toys
Might take my History of Buck Knives and see if I can get a few autographs

on the drive home going to drive down the CA coast and look at some big trees and bigger water

Awesome!

I see you are in Hesperia. 2 of my Springer Spaniels were born there :)
I am over in Lancaster.

Where are you going on the CA coast?
I lived up there for many years. Arcata, Eureka, Fort Bragg and Albion. I love that whole area up there.

Have fun! I would suggest calling ahead to the factory store to book your tour as they get busy when kids are out of school.

If into guns, hunting or fishing..an awesome Cabellas about 3 miles past the factory. Scored a bunch of .22 there last August when little available in socal.

The drive down the coast is not scripted just gonna take our time and enjoy..I am open to suggestions for things to see and do along the northern CA coast so far the sequoias and montery are the only wants.

I will look for the Cabellas Ihave been to the one in Phoenix lots of fun

Go on the guided trail walk by the US Park Service on the east side of the highway. I would have to look it up but it starts at a parking lot "up" the hill a couple miles from the coast. Its not hard or long, might be wet, big trees and I am pretty sure Bigfoot has likely walked by. Went there last summer. Yes, book Buck tour ahead. 300

So many cool things to see!

Fern Canyon in the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Humboldt County highway 101 (there is a herd of elk lurking around there too)

Avenue Of The Giants in Redwood National Park, Humboldt County highway 101

The town of Trinidad, Humboldt County highway 101

The town of Mendocino, Mendocino County highway 1

The town of Fort Bragg, Mendocino County highway 1

Shoot the whole drive down the coast is awesome.

Thanks for the info..destinations noted..tour reservations made

If you have the time, the Skunk Train, based on Main Street in Fort Bragg does a day trip through the hills.
It is an old steam engine.... pretty neat.

Also in Fort Bragg, is Glass Beach, where in the olden days, they used it as a dump....
Everything was just shoved off the bluffs for the ocean to take away.
After a storm, the beach gets churned up, and polished pieces of old colored glass are exposed all over the place :)

Oh.... also.... micro breweries everywhere...lol
In Arcata, Blue Lake, Eureka, Fort Bragg, Booneville, Hopland...... and I am sure there are more.
Also in Southern Mendocino County, and Sonoma County, there are numerous vineyards.

Bodega Bay, Sonoma County on the highway 1, is cool too.

There are also a few lighthouses along the way. Driving down the coast, if you know where to look.

Have a great trip! thought about moving there once myself.....until RUBY RIDGE then looked into Montana in the Cabinet Mt Range then Wyoming until the Hollywood crowd Asians started buying up all the real estate.

I love that state still! enjoy the BUCK tour an get outdoors for sure!
