Well researched article re NY "gravity" knife law

I posted this earlier on the last NYC thread in this section. Yes it is a well written article. The writer had read these forums as well as other research. Remember those who were given long jail terms in the article had criminal back grounds that forced the charge to raise to a felony, and in some cases mandatory sentence guidelines kicked in. The fishing/hunting/trapping exception has never been defined as needing to be "actively engaged in" as was stated in the article, but I think he may have blended the NYC admin code 10-133 which requires you to be going directly to and from those activities, and the exception in NYS PL that says you can possession a switchblade or gravity knife for use while fishing/hunting/trapping. I was glad to see it was a fair report on a law that has been on the books since the 1950s, but was never enforced in a strict manner till the last several years.
