I just lost my Leek :( First my "Needs Work" and now this one. Can't seem to hold on to those folders. This blows

How? I gotta say, it has been about 20 years since I lost knife that couldn't be found. Hell, the ones I do lose I don't even know they are gone until they get found.

The title of your thread made me think you are having issues with Kershaws products. Not your ability to keep track of your things

I guess I would suggest that you buy higher-priced folders. At some price point, you will be concerned enough to keep an eye on where they are.
For instance...how about a $400 CRK Sebenza. I'll bet you'd know where that one is...
Yes, I AM sorry that you lost your knives, although my post doesn't sound that way...
I lost one special work-knife 20 yrs ago because it had no pocket-clip, and was not in any leather case or pocket-slip.

These are the only knives I've ever lost without being able to find in a few days. I think the "Needs Work" got stolen and the Leek must have just fallen out of my pocket somewhere because the shorts I was wearing, the knife would kind of "flip over" and hang by the pocket clip :(

I just thought it was funny it only happens with SpeedSafe knives. Bad luck with them I guess lol

There's a lot of truth to this. Pens are a dime a dozen and easy to lose. I started buying Montblanc pens and I haven't lost one yet.
Plus maybe you need to buy a big enough knife that you know you have it on you?

What model Leek?
The 1660CKT one that's got the black coating. So at least it wasn't too spendy but I even remarking "Well I guess this will replace the other I lost". Totally jinxed myself.

Yeah maybe, I never seen to lose my Izulas very much.

Just some coincidence... Now I'm like "Darn should I buy another Leek to replace that one or will I lose it too." haha

Buy a knife holster and use that, it make it harder to lose a knife from your pocket if thats how your are losing them. A brightly colored lanyard helps too.

Though now days most of my EDC knives are secured by a keyring. My wallet has a keyring and outside pocket for keys so I put a brightly colored paracord and tie a loop on the knife and a clasp on the keyring and attach it that way.

Are you just looking for excuses to buy more knives? "Luckily I found it but only after buying a new one". :D

hehe...I think so. OP, you should pick up a Spyderco and test its "loseability" against the Kershaws then report back in to the rest of us so we can use your review to make better knife buying decisions. That way your purchase can benefit everyone!! See how helpful I am?? ;)

After constantly losing my knives during my teenage years, I've improved greatly in keeping track of my things. Although I do suspect that many of them were probably stolen by "friends" or aquantinces. I keep way better track of my things now, I'm actually a little paranoid about losing my wallet/keys/phone/knives so I am constantly checking to make sure they're still on me. Losing stuff sucks. Last time I lost my keys, 5 or so years ago, I got incredibly lucky and was able to back track a mile in the grass I was walking through and found them on the hill i ran up, where i suspected I had lost them.

Kenny, sounds like you need to start doing the paranoid, OCD dance where you pat your pockets every single time you get up or move.

Must be the Onion Gnome.

Every night at 4:00 AM he gets up and says, "I've got to take a Leek."
Just about choked on my drink. Unexpectedly funny!

OP, that really sucks. I've got to agree with the others speaking of higher priced knives... $150 and up, I'm checking my pockets just to see of it's still there. Lately that's been true for my phone, wallet, flashlight as well as my knives... whether that means just concentrating while I walk to see if I can feel their weight or pressure in my pockets, or actually just quickly feeling for them.
