I got my B4's today and love them EXCEPT for the talon hole. I used my anorexic for about 15 minutes in the kitchen before I got sick of the talon hole getting in the way and decided to remove it

Here's the results

I still need to smooth it out. Its not the prettiest but its very comfortable and makes it a much more usable blade.

Its pretty much a Res C INFI HRLM :D

Here is a picture of the two blades stacked together with the tan on bottom. So you can see how much space the talon hole takes up

This thing is just about perfect now!

I changed the edge geometry a little and it slices like a DEMON. Ive been looking for the perfect medium/ small fixed blade for a long time and I think this might be the one:thumbup:

Nice modification, allows for a greater amount of cutting edge to be used in many situations. Not for all, but I understand it.

Sometimes the trademarks get in the way. Spyderco's holes on fixed blades is another example, and you can't fix that one.

Hunter,
That look's great man. Do you think it's going to be a good skinner? I have not recieved mine yet. I plan on killing a wild Hog as soon as it get's here and give it a work out.

Great to see folks willing to make a knife their own.:cool:

Did you use a small drum sander? Grinding out INFI like that is a b***h.

Nice mod . I think it looks good . Hey , it's your knife and if you didn't need that part with the hole why not make it the way you like .

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

That does look good, it caught me off guard for a second and I had to get used to it, but it doesn't look bad.

Sure ain't gonna have interference from the cutting board. Hum, kinda wish that was an option:cool:

I keep telling myself, I don't need to modify every knife I get, but I'm liking your choil! Looks as if you didn't loose any edge, can you give us a pic with the choiled one on top of the tan B4?

I used it to chop up some fruit and make a few feather sticks last night and I think it performs much better without the talon hole. I wish there wa a choil and choil-less option Like on the b10. This is a knife that would really benefit from having no choil at all.

I used a bench grinder to take off the metal until I got a decent shape and then I use a drill and some dremmel type hard bits to finish the shape. I only lost about 2 millimeters or so of cutting edge.

And yes grinding hardened INFI is awful.
