work sent me on a trip from ontario to our sister plant in georgia. before i left, i looked around the site here for what knives you could and couldn't carry. i didn't find anything about carry laws in georgia, but there was a few comments about confiscation at the airport. even in checked baggage.
one site member (can't remember who) said don't take anything you don't want to lose. luckily, i followed this advice. the airline in question lost my whole bag, in which i had packed a broken old p.o.s. sak knockoff.
i was a little upset at not having clean underwear to change into, but work paid for a quick shopping trip. my work boots were nicely broken in, but they'll be replaced as well, all on the airline's tab. all in all, there was nothing of any great value or sentimental attachment lost.
spending the week without a knife sucked, but it could have sucked a lot worse. so, pack your bag like you may never see it again. at least for air travel.
