I was only trying to take care of a couple of old axes I found cleaning up my father-in-law's barn when he passed. Now I own more than 200. I can't blame the enthusiasm and help on this site...but it surely contributed. I've given some away as gifts and they were much more appreciated than I expected, but I'm running out of friends and family who burn wood anymore, so I'm listing them on eBay. I'll never break even, but maybe some will get improved and used.
Telling you guys , of course, because this group may buy some, but also...
...they will all be true auctions with no reserve. Doesn't happen much on eBay and maybe it gives info about values of these things when restored (at least at my skill level).
...this forum has helped me avoid counterfeits a LOT! But I can't be 100% sure I never got suckered. I don't want to resell a fake by accident and maybe you can quality control me.
...more than half of what I learned about these tools and how to manage/restore them came from here. Some were posted here.
...I'm really curious about this group's critiques. I have always found BladeForums to be the most sensibly practical about these tools.
I'm working to get the first batch of 25 listed. Maybe 4-5 up by the end of the day. My goal is to sell all but my favorite dozen or so. Here is one so that you can find my listings: https://www.ebay.com/itm/317494829691.
Love this forum! I wonder how long it will take me to get back to 200. Maybe fighting with eBay listings will become my new hobby.
