...and Yvsa has again shown his true colors. Since his 'pooter package included a big scanner, he sent me his HP rig that he had used when he was running a WebTV :) Now I have to learn all that photo jargon (Mohd, you thought YOU were out of date HAH!!) and figure out how to, where to, what with, and hope it is all worth it. When I get through the manual, and instructions and Barb gets back rom Wally World with something that takes close-ups, maybe I can send something to Al that will go up on the board. Anybody like pics of nice doggies? They are the only ones who don't run when I show up with a camera

Yvsa got a computer!!!??? That's cool. I'll have to search through and find out what all he got. :D Warning: Geek at play. :)

I just built a new one for myself, just got it running two days ago, unfortunately the RAM chip I bought is bad, so I'll have to arrange to return the chip. :(

My friend Al built a new system just before I did, and I teased him for buying two sticks of 256 megs when I bought one stick of 512 megs and it only takes up one slot. He said that he did it in case one of the sticks is bad he wouldn't have to send the whole thing back. Ahh, I'm not a big fan of irony right now. :( Is that irony or just a bummer??? :)

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Glad you like it Bro. It wasn't used or gonna be used for maybe quite some time and I wanted you to be able to post pix.
I posted mine through links with Photopoint, but now that they're outta business you will have to find another one of the free places.

Bob, I got a Hewlett Packard Bundled system that came with a monitor and the speakers. It has a CDR and a DVD unit and has been upgraded from 128 Megs RAM to 512 Megs RAM with 2, 256 Meg RAM chips.:p
But that's the limit on this 'pooter.':(

Lost a [ bracket somewhere's. Edited to correct.

right now, it doesn't matter if it took you 4 sticks of memory to get up to 512 megs, the point is your computer's working at 100% at the moment, my baby that was put together with my own hands is sick and can't always figure out how much memory she has. :(

Bob, if it wasn't for my son in law who just finished his 1st degree in building computers hadn't came by with the grandkids on their way back to Florida I wouldn't have the extra memory unless I had taken the 'puter to a local shop where it would have cost me a lot.
The whole deal came to around $35.00, I think, after rebates.
Dallas of course installed it for free.
I figured it would take him a couple of hours or so and was prepared to wait.
It was around 20 minutes or less that he got it installed in. Shows the cost of labor in the repair services!!!!!!

And me and Bro have a lot in common.:(
Your computer is just like me, Bob. I'm sick and can't figure out how much memory I have.
My short term memory has went where ever memory goes when one starts getting older.
I have a hunch it's somehow being tried to upgrade teenager's memories since everyone seems to know everything about everything when they turn 16 or so and somehow it backfires.;) :p  :)

I had an English teacher once who developed a satisfactory philosophy on memory - "Past 60, never learn anything new because it may replace something more important - then, if you do forget something, WHO CARES???".

I have a theory, when something goes bad some people use the term "went south" I guess as in the migratory patterns of birds. ;)
As in, my computer's memory chip went south. Okay, I would say as you get older, your memory goes south, and that's why all the old people are in Florida, they're looking for everything on their body that went south. :D
