Well this one really does hurt - Jim's down

So I finally found my full custom Gentleman Jim. One of the very rare times it wasn't in my pocket over this past decade, due to going in and out of the hospital and orthopedic doctors office (bad fall, 5 broken ribs and a shattered collarbone for which I have surgery next week). Anyways, two and a half weeks ago (and 10 days after my fall) the house my fiancee and I lived in caught fire and is a total loss. There was no loss of life, human or pets, so that is the most important thing. But my Gentleman Jim and my brand new Com7 were not in my Pelican and were in the fire. I don't know if there is any chance of GJ being brought back, and the Com7 is completely toast. This is what GJ looks like.

I'm very sorry to hear this news. Glad you and your fiancee are not hurt. Call Emerson, explain your situation. Maybe they will help. This is a tragedy after all. Best of luck!
That is a good thought, I would be delighted if it could be refurbed. I will likely try to remove the pocketclip (Steel Flame USN dragontail) and shamrock thumb disc that Kahless made for me to see if I can repair them myself.

Contact Emerson. You may be surprised. I had a production SOCFK that was pretty well destroyed during a deployment. Showed it to Ernie at Blade many years ago. He asked if he could keep it, and handed me a new one in the box.

Emerson Customer service and care is exceptional.

Ahh.. this is one of the most upsetting things I've seen on the internet in a while. Sorry for your loss. (and glad you're alright..)

Thanks, I am thankful it wasn't worse. Still wish I would have had that one on me.
One of the reasons I only carry good quality stuff. Suddenly what you have in your pockets might be all you have left.

Luckily the Pelican case saved some. I had no idea they were fire proof.

Don't know that they are necessarily fireproof, but mine was in the only room in the house that was only smoke damaged.
