Well this sucks. Can't find 14205. What do I get now?

Well damn. After lots of researching I had finally decided to buy a BM 14205 and as my luck would have it they are discontinued and I can't find one anywhere. I really had my mind set on that one.

But alas it wasn't meant to be it seems. What knife would you recommend for me that has similar features to the 14205? Smooth operation, good steel, high build quality, ergonomics, size and of course price point.

Suggestions with pics would be welcome. I am NOT interested in serrated or black coated knives, thanks.

Cheers

Don't give up so easy. A little looking around (even dabay right now) and you'll find one easy. Worth it for sure.

Thanks for the link but I called 1sks earlier this morning and they don't have them in stock. They do not list when an item is not in stock on their website. You have to call them.

Kreole would you kindly post a link to a website that actually has them for $120 or less? My googlefu isn't that good it seems.

Posted one to your profile as a visitor message :)

edit: Oh wait, that's partially serrated. Do you want plain edge?

edit2: I posted one as a visitor message that's plain edge, though it has a black blade.

That sucks. I won't deal with a retailer that lists what they don't have. Good luck.

I also forgot to add that similar knives do not have to have 154CM Stainless Steel. Just good steel is all.

They are always on ebay....

(( deal-spotting violation ))

Benchmade Rift is similar and a little more refined IMO.

The 14205 and the 950 are similar? Really? I hardly think so...
Completely different designers, handles, ergos, blade shapes, etc. The only similarity is the parent company and blade steel.

Well then

Yeah, same handle size, close to same blade length, both have 154CM blade steel, both have a point close to the center line of the knife, both have a mid height flat grind, both have similar edge profiles, G10 handles/ steel liners, AXIS locks, thumb studs, same handle width, and same closed profile for similar feel in the pocket, and both have left right tip up pocket clip options. They also are both open construction using standoffs. That is quite a few more similarities than who makes them and blade steel.

They are pretty close in my book, but apparently not everyone's. I also own both of them and I am currently holding them both so maybe the similarities are a little more obvious in hand.

Rift's distinctive bump may throw it off a little in terms of ergos :/ I found the HK-series comfortable, the Rift less so.

As mentioned above Ebay is always possible, or perhaps watch the exchange like a hawk.
