Here is my latest, I am not quite true pathing it for a blade smith.:)

I have been struggling for a while trying to figure out what to make my parents for x-mas. They are not really into the knife thing so i was going to make them each a damascus letter opener with stone handles, until I broke one and got all pissy:D

So I decided to do what you see below. I found the design on Anvilfire.com in their iForge section. They are made out of three pieces of 1/2 inch steel rod twisted together. Let me tell you, it is MUCH easier to get high carbon steel to weld together than low carbon!

These were different, kinda fun but frustrating. Reminded me of the first time I tried to grind a knife:) Knives are more fun IMO. Anyway, just wanted to share, I think I will make a wrought iron staircase next:eek:  ;)

Anyway, have a good Christmas all.

Very nice, Sean. I hope to begin learning to do stuff like that, too. Very attractive, And I'm sure they'll be really happy having something from your efforts. Merry Xmas!

Sean Those are really nice! I think making knives would be easier. Im sure they will love them.

Merry Christmas to You too.

Excellent work!! I really like them. You appear to be one heck of a blacksmith. Very original, and I'm sure your parents will really appreciate them.

Wow! Sean you're a fine blacksmith, anyone would be proud to own those and coming from their son these will be honored for years.

Merry Christmas to all,
Dave
