Many of you may remember that I purchased a Commander as a vaction project back in December. I took the HC finish off, glass beaded the blade, then polished it to an almost mirror finish.
I just moved into a new place. I've used this Commander to do the following:
Open countless boxes.
Cut down cardboard boxes to be tied up.
Cut sheet rock.
Used as an emergency screwdriver.
Scrape wall paper...more wall paper & more wall paper.
Cut up 4 rooms worth of carpeting & padding.
Cut cable.
Scrape copper pipes.
Cut rope & string.
Pluck staples out of hardwood floors.
And whatever else the wife did with it.
I promise you I beat the heck out of this knife. Opened full force at least 20-30 times a day. Stepped on numerous times. Lost for a couple of days.
Never chipped the blade. Never had the blade rub the liners. G-10 still looks pretty good. Edge is dull as heck. Knife held up pretty well.
I'll be glass beading the blade soon & retireing this knife with it custom brothers.
