This is probably already out there somewhere, but I was wondering if you all could post some pics of your wood inlay knives that have seen a lot of pocket time? Im a little hesitant to carry my Bog Oak Sebenza and was wondering what it would look like with time.

I’m carrying my small bog oak 21 today. I’ve had it for about a year, and it’s probably my most carried CRK. I clip it to the inside of my right front pocket where it shares space with keys, earplugs in a metal case, SAK, and various other things that I shove in there throughout the day. I don’t abuse it but definitely don’t baby it either.

So far the inlays have held up perfectly – no scratching or chipping or any other issues.
Quoting myself from another thread…

I'm of the opposite opinion. I think you should always use and carry the nicest things you can afford. How many other people are going to appreciate using and carrying a nice knife? You only live once. The next person that gets your knife might not have the same appreciation.

Obviously, I'm not talking about using it to cut drywall and baton wood. 🤣

Haha yeah I think that would be tuff for anyone to do. 😂

I have a large 21 with macassar ebony inlays. It is currently in safe queen status, but only because 21s are out of production. All my other sebenzas get used, including a large 21 with thuya burl inlays. It's been in the rotation for a year and a half and the wood is pristine. It should be noted that I holster carry Sebenzas. I suspect most handle wear occurs in the pocket.

My first Mnandi was Bog Oak bought new the year they came out 2015 maybe? It spent about a year bouncing around in the bottom of my pocket and saw use every day.
Traded it even up for a NIB Small PJ Insingo Sebenza if that tells you how tough they are.

I purchased a Sebenza 31 wih bog oak just a couple of months ago and I definitely have been using it without worry of it getting scratches etc. (Pocket carry). I have hunted for years with longbows and recurves wih highly figured woods, all of which cost more than my Sebenza. I still use them to block branches rather than use my face! My hunting tools don't have scratches, they have "scars"-and each time I look at one it brings back a fond memory! Everything you own will one day belong to someone else! USE IT! Burn that sculpted candle! Shoot that "heirloom!" If I had the gun Wyatt Earp used at the OK Corral, I would HAVE to shoot it-even if it dropped a million dollars in value if I did! I get more pleasure from the experience of using fine things than staring at fine things just knowing that I own it.
