Hi Fellow Craftspeople

I did a small "Hair-on" Mutant the other day

Hair-on (I think that is the right term ?) Cowhide
Fused with the kydex sheath with a strong epoxy then shaped and made nice ;)

vol-la cool cowboy kind of kydex :)

Now I just need to make a Woolly sheath with sheep skin

Nice work! :)

Quick question how did you manage to heat up the kydex without damaging the hair? Did you have to go to a lower temperature?

I think the idea is pretty neat and very well executed. On this particular set up, I think the blue modern knife clashes with the hair too much but that is just personal taste. I think this would really look neat against antler/stag handled knife or a dark hardwood knife.

Again though, I love the quality of the sheath.

Wow Dave and the hits keep rolling... I like this its cool.

Thank you everybody.

Partially made the sheath then deconstructed, added hair on overlay Industrial epoxy, then reconstructed :)

The hair should be fine it is meant for sheaths and Chaps and such.

The Blue was a Busse of mine that did not have a sheath but you are right, I think I have a bone handled one that may be better , just did not have it at hand for the photo op :)

That is one of the most bizarre setups I have ever seen a hairy kydex sheath for a knife with fluorescent blue handles :o:eek::). I want one?!? This is a rather incredible idea.
