I picked this one up recently. I don't know much about Wendell Carson or Fighting Bull knives. I've read somewhere that Wendell has parts made and hand assembles these knives. Overall, the f&f is pretty good. there is a slight gap between one of the back springs and the liner and the blades aren't exactly centered. The back springs have just the right amount of tension and the half-stops are pronounced. Who has more info on Fighting Bull knives and Wendell Carson?

Hey there morrowj_98,

In my past expierence with Wendell Carson he was very easy to talk to and was the perfect Gentlemen.. Unfortunately I have found Mr. Carson's knives to be hit and miss. I have gotten some really spectactular pieces from him early on in the past, and then other pieces that were less than desirable. For instance: Fit and finish was off here and there on the back springs and blade grinds were slightly inconsistent. I suppose the thing that bothered me the most was the side-to-side blade wobble on some of his stuff and it became more prevelant as time went on the more knives I received from him. It bothered me so much that at one point around two years or so ago, that I stopped purchasing from him all together. Its a shame because you never knew whether you were getting a sweetheart or somthing less..

Here is a Trapper in Mastodon Mamouth Ivory I thought he did a fine job on..

I very much hope your Gunstock is one of the good ones!

Thanks for all the info. Both blades do have some mild play.
