Wenge maintenance?

I have a knife with wenge scales. I've handled it a lot. Is it a good idea to oil this wood from time to time? If so, would 'true oil' be ok?

Unless it's really dirty or seems really dry, I wouldn't worry too much. It's very stable and has a lot of natural oils in it.

I don't think Tru-oil would hurt it any (if you already have some, go ahead and give it a try), but I don't think it's really necessary, either. I would try plain lemon oil. You can find it at guitar/music shops, they use it to occasionally clean and condition rosewood fretboards and stuff. A small bottle goes a long, long way.
