Have any of you ever used Wenge on a handle? I had a really nice block so I cut it and put it on a blade. After I got the scales shaped and sanded I noticed there are little, not sure what they are called, void lines all thru it. I have 2 coats of Tru Oil on it so far. Reckon that Tru Oil is going to fill in those voids (or lat least keep them from expanding) and make a nice finish?

I like the stuff. The "void lines, or "holes" are just part of the natural beauty of Wenge'. Those lines give it some texture and character, and it takes a great polish.

It is some beautiful wood! And having never worked with it I am perhaps a little overly concerned about what might happen with the voids over time. I hope to get a couple pics of it up soon. It is the second knife I forged at the ABS intro class. I also finished the first one so I hope to get pics of both up soon.
