I just got a 70744 but the instructions did not say how to work the differant dials.I can get them to reset and start but that is about all I have figured out.

What else do you want to do with them? Start, stop, and reset -- that's all a chronograph does.

I thought I worded that a little funny.I have been sitting here playing with it and think I have it figured out.I wasn't sure how the 10 th second counter worked but know I see what it does.Fisrt one I have had and I guess I was over thinking its opperation.
The tachymeter on it tells you how fast you are going by covering a mile in so many seconds,right.

If you time how long it takes to do something once, the tachymeter scale tells you how many times you could do it in an hour. That can be how long it takes your car to travel a mile, but it can just as well be a kilometer, or how long it takes you to profile a knife blade, anything.
