Anyone have info or familiarity with the Patagonian series?

Saw them in a recent magazine article (Tactical Knives I think), and they looked interesting.

But there seems to be an abscence of info on them online, and none of the dealers I frequent seems to stock them.

They are basically standard Wenger models dressed up in yellow grip scales with special laser engraving.

I'm more familiar with Vic than Wenger. I searched the Wenger site for PATAGONIA and found nothing....didn't realize they were just considered Rangers.
Thanks!

 Absolutely, that is the one that most caught my attention.

If you are looking for a dealer, I believe Felinevet has them.

You read my mind. :D
Thanks again

The Patagonian Expedition knives from Wenger are nice knives but they're a little bulkier than similar knives from Victorinox.

Some photos of similar style knives from Wenger and Victorinox: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=768196

Amazon has the Patagonia and Mike Horn knives in stock and Knifecenter (a Bladeforums dealer) has the Mike Horn knife in stock... and many other dealers have them also. I'd recommend buying from a Bladeforums dealer or banner advertiser - they help to support this forum rather than take a free ride. Paid subscribers don't see the banner ads (it's too bad that spam isn't invisible to paying members :p )

The Bladeforums dealers post ads in the Exchange forum:

Picked up the Mike Horn, and I'm fairly pleased with it. Nice attractive item, seems sturdy and well made.

It was a bit thicker than I expected, which is probably all good.
The pliers were much more substantial than I expected.

Only a couple of minor "complaints".
The two screw bits just slide in a little pocket on the sheath, not really anything retaining them. There is an elastic strip IN the pocket, but honestly it doesn't seem to have a function, or I'm too stupid to figure out what it's suppose to do.
Stuffed a Wenger Esquire in the pocket also (mostly for the scissors).
On the plus side, when the flap is closed it seems to keep everything in the pocket secure.

The serrated blade locks and cuts like a champ.
However the PE drop point blade does not lock and seems almost too "loose". Really no resistence to opening or closeing. Not a huge deal, since the serrated blade would be the primary cutting tool but I'd still like the other blade a little tighter.
Don't see any obvious way to tighten it.
Anyone know how hard it is to take off the handles? And if I do is there a pivot adjustment under them?
