I've been thinking about this one: www.wengerna.com/rangergrip-178-16313

Can anyone who owns any of the Wenger Ranger series compare them to any of the Vic 111mm's?

I can see from the specs that the Rangers are longer & heavier than comparable Vic's, but would appreciate any additional info! Thanks!

I have both a Vic and Wenger single blade, one handed opening, PE with clip knives. Since I have small hands, the Wenger is way too big for me. But it's locking device is a dream, and almost as easy as an axis lock.

The Vic, on the other hand, has a much better length for me, but the liner lock works in reverse, so is a pain to use. It also has a better shaped hole, and is easier to open.

Both are good, neither is close to perfect for my needs. I'm taking a trip this summer, and will probably pack the Vic; the Wenger is just too bulky for the pockets I plan to clip it to.

i have several 111mm vics, some with the original slide lock release and many more with the one handed system and one or the original old wenger rangers-'the everest' with pliers and saw and the old slider lock

the wenger is heavy and slightly longer blades and saw than any Vic and for some reason i do not like the way it sits in my hand-it is very square in shape

some of the earlier Vic lock backs with the one handed thumb can interfere with downward thumb pressure-the newer ones have softened the eye shape to avoid this bump into your thumb

i never carry the wenger -its heavy and not my favorite-no toothpicks or tweezers either-

its hard to beat the newest one handed dual density vics
