i took my wenger single blade locking knife down the river and cut some bamboo with it to make a walking stick , it then needed a wash, so when i was finished walking around i drove home and chucked it in the sink with hot water and detergent. since it only cost me $30 aussie dollars i decided to rust test it . i washed it then just left it to dry by itself . when i got up this morning there is no rust on the knife only black spots on the blade . just thought you guys might be interested.

They hold up pretty good in that department. They do Stain..Less. I always care for my knives after use even the stain..less variety.

The only rust I've ever seen on a SAK of any kind was on the liners of a Vic Spartan left in the backyard for a full nasty Canadian winter. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

I have seen lots of SAKs that were nasty dirty and covered with junk - but NO rust. Fresh water will probably never rust a SAK blade. Whenever exposed to salt water, the knife should be thoroughly rinsed and cleaned.

yeah i know all the maintenance tip , thanks guys. i just wanted to see how it would hold up.
