Since the question comes up from time to time, the difference between Wenger's Soldier model and Victorinox' Soldier that is, here's a video that explains the differences. The Pioneer, which is also a Soldier with some differences, is also featured.

Victorinox needs to bring back the hollow rivet and bail, like the SI.

Agree, 110%! They also should go a tad retro and bring back the older shield, and the old cross shield.

BTW, do you think Victorinox bothers to read these knife forums?

BTW, do you think Victorinox bothers to read these knife forums?

Let see now, was founded in 1884,
been doing great things in their own way.
hmmm, would a recent milestone in electronic communication
based half way across the world
have any direct effect
on such a highly successful global business otherwise?
Guess the world would just have to wait and see
which of the two would be around for the next 100 years
from now in any event.

Perhaps not...I don't recall ever seeing a Victorinox advert anywhere, whether it be in print or on the telly; they really don't need to.

Hopefully their appointed foreign representatives
might help with providing reports on grass roots feedback
being gathered, amongst others, in forums such as these.
So Smile! Mr Elsener could very well surprise us here someday with a forum sak.

A Forum SAK would be great, but I would prefer a sub-forum dedicated to Victorinox/Wenger knives.

If BladeForums feels like giving me a lifetime of devotion, I second that emotion.:D
