Is it just me, or is it much harder to find Wenger knives than Victorinox? Not that I don't prefer Victorinox, generally, but I would like to find a shop that has a full line of Wenger products, not just a select few. Anyone else run into this?

I seems to me that since Victorinox bought Wenger they have been selling less and less Wengers in the States. Maybe also since the product lines are almost the same it somehow makes it makes better business for them to just send over Vics. I'm a little worried that with all the Wenger luggage, watches and clothing that they may stop making knives under the Wenger name. I hope not as I really like the extra belly on thier blades. One of the reasons I bought my Wenger Metal 50 when I was in Switzerland was because you can't find them in the states.

The only place that sells Vic's in Perth as far as I know is an army surplus store (The prices on SAK's are pretty good actually). The rest sell Wengers.

The same here in the Netherlands. The large outdoor stores mainly sell Wenger knives. Victorinox knives can often be found in the army dump stores and on internet.

I regularly visit Dutch sites on hiking, camping and other outdoor actvities and noticed that Wenger is getting much more attention. Perhaps Wenger is profiling itself better/more as a manufacturer of outdoor tools and Victorinox is more associated with the military.

Yeah, I've found that the large outdoor stores (Sports Authority, Bass Pro Shops, Dicks Sporting Goods) carry a few models each, unfortunately none that I'm interested in. I was referring to online sites, in particular, since that is how I usually do my knife shopping. Interesting to hear that Wenger is more prevalent outside the US. Sounds like a marketing decision to me.
