Wenger/Victorinox Question

No. Wenger blades are a little thinner and as Chris said, shaped a bit differently. The overall knives are a little thinner and lighter. The finish is not as shiny. The Wenger scissors are, I think, much nicer, using the mainspring rather than a separate little spring. there are other subtle differences. I have both and love both.

The can opener on the Wenger does not have the small screwdriver tip that the Vic' does.

Most folks give a slight edge to higher quality to Victorinox knives, but since they have owned Wenger for a few years now, I'm not seeing that as much as I used to from the ones I own.

Both are good knives, the Wenger also has one hand opening on the large blade which is handy.

Wenger's can opener is a hook -- lift-and-pull -- style blade, while the Victorinox uses a lift-and-push style opener. I prefer the hook.

Wenger is now producing the "Evo" series knives, like the S10, which have a main blade lock.

They are, otherwise, pretty much equivalent tools.

Slightly off topic, just some company info. Wenger and Victorinox are now the same company. Victorinox bought Wenger a couple of years ago. They do however keep the individual identities/brands so they will not "blend" into one brand, which I think is good. I believe they will stay slightly different also in the future.

I do believe they use the same steels though, at least the purchaser for the two companies is the same guy ;).

These two knives appear basically identical. Minus the toothpick and tweezer... which one it a better knife? Or is there a noticable difference? Are they pretty much the same quality?

They're about the same. Both very nice. But, I think it would be a shame to buy a SAK without scissors. Over time you will get more use out of the scissors than any other gadget on a SAK.
