Any information on how much longer we will be able to buy Wenger Swiss Army knives? I am hearing and reading different things about their continuation as well as their cancellation. Their is one model that I have had my eye on for some time now, wondering how soon I should move to buy.

On January 30, 2013, Wenger and Victorinox announced that the separate knife brands were going to be merged into one brand: Victorinox. The press release stated that Wenger's factory in Delemont would continue to produce knives and all employees at this site will retain their jobs. They further elaborated that an assortment of items from the Wenger line-up will remain in production under the Victorinox brand name. Wenger's U.S. headquarters will be merged with Victorinox's location in Monroe, Connecticut. Wenger's watch and licensing business will continue as a separate brand.

This is the last year for wenger products, so if there is something you want grab it while you can. Some wenger knives will stick around rebranded, but they have yet to announce which ones. My fav wengers are the big 130mm rangers, so I really hope those stay around.

I'm a fan of Wenger and Victorinox equally. From a selfish standpoint, I'm hoping for some massive Wenger closeouts when the merger is completed. Picked up a couple at significant discounts recently from a large discount department store chain. Seemed like a push for inventory reduction, but whether or not it had anything to do with the merger I have no idea.
