Went For An Early Morning Hike!!!!

A local state park is only 10 minutes away from the house, yeah I know, I kick myself in the arse for not going to it more often, but that has changed...the Park is Carter Caves State Park, it has numerous trails, and is famous for the bat caves, and bats.....enough of that, I'll let the pics do the talking.....

trails were marked by different colors varying from 2 miles to 10 miles, I did the 2 mile hike today....

My ugly mug after the hike...worked up a good sweat!!!!

It was about a 2 hour hike, I broke a good sweat, there are more trails to hike, and I plan on coming back tomorrow for another one.....my pack was a medium alice pack that I got on trade here in the forum, it weighed 15 pounds...so that gave me a good workout also!!!! thanks for lookin!!!!

No I didn't, you can take a tour of one, so you might see him back in one of the crevice's....some of the caves are closed because of a disease called White Nose Syndrome.....so I just took the trails!!!

Only 10 minutes away? I would love a place like that only 10 minutes away! The parks I have are nice, but not scenic parks by any means.

yeah, you just have to get off the beaten path, there's a primitive campsite also, they give out permits for that....

Great pics! Looks like an awesome place to hike, beautiful scenery! I understand some of my favorite places to hike are only ten minutes away and you'd think I'd be there once a week but...life gets in the way sometimes
