Looking for a job close to home can be hard when there are no specialty places around. I work in the graphics bidness so seeing a pre press job running a 1.5 million dollar machine was like.... What! 3 miles from me???
Looks like a better oportuntity than where I am now and I can come cut out knife blanks on my lunch HR
We shall see........I know there may only be about 3 guys in my hometown that even know what variable data printing is, or large format graphic applications so I think I have an 80% chance of getting the position....if the money is decent enough.

I would have to alter my posting habit but it would be better for the family to have me closer to home.

If I didnt drive so far I wouldnt have ran my truck in the woods earlier this year also...thats a good thing NOT to do  :D

thanks fellas.....It aint no secret I have been unsatisfied where I am.
All jobs have troubles but hearing your boss and his kids rant and scream "F" this and "F" that doesnt have its place in my head when I am as old as MArk
Just kiddin buddy!

Good Luck. Maybe the "find a job fairy" is smiling on BF members. I just accepted a job in Atlanta. I start on Monday (29th). The move will be a pain, though.....

you better make it to trackrock one og these days David..

MArk, I hope the new job wont interfear with out Sep plans.
I'll have to mension that...........if I get it...

Hey Brian, good luck man! It's nice to have a rare specialty, ain't it? My brother is similar, one of the three or so best Linux guys in Iowa. Only thing is, he's still always working Unix. It's kinda funny actually. But he puts in a Linux box every chance he gets, a regular open source guerrilla! :D I hope your job hunt pans out, you deserve to get some breaks as hard as you work. I'm pulling for your family too! When will you find out?

Hey, that's what I do.

.

Well,
I have a 2nd interview Monday after work....I think its the money talk.

Hope there not blowing smoke!

Best of luck to you Brian. I recently found out the joy of a short commute myself! I did it the other way around though, moved on post. Not only will it be good for working on knives at lunch, but it's more time you'll get to spend with the baby! For me, it was the best decision I ever made!

Dont worry bout our plans. A job close to home is way too important to screw up. You could mention the plans to them though :).

Sorry I didnt get back with you last night , had a birthday party and got in late.

Good luck with the interview Brian...hope you get it! Heck, with a short commute like that you could ride a bicycle to work to save on the cost of gas! Good luck! :)
