Stopped at a pawn shop yesterday to find out that they were going out of business and were having a garage sale this morning to clear out inventory. I asked about watches, speakers, and knives. He said he had hundreds of knives and started talking about fantasy knives and swords. I asked about Spyderco, Benchmade, etc and he said he probably had some of those. So, I checked out what he had this morning and came home with 4 Leatherman devices, a Buck fixed blade, Sog Seal Pup, and a traditional Uncle Henry.

Now I need to figure out which Leatherman to keep!

If you can use all of them that'd be great. Sell what you won't use or carry & make some $$. :D

I've always wanted a Leatherman, but never had one, any opinions on which is the best? I see that the Pulse seems to have the most tools, which may make it the best for me.

Depends on what you think you would need on the Leatherman. Leatherman's greatest seller has always been the Wave. I love my Wave but most times find it overkill so my Leatherman Juice does just fine for regular daily use.

Nice score. If you decide to get rid of the Wave let me know.

Score! Nice haul.

I can't help but feel that there are two kind of MT users. First, you have those that carry one ILO a knife. For them, I recommend the Wave.

Second, is the person who carries for the pliers and all the other goodies that a MT offers. The blade is secondary. In that case, a Gerber 600 series should fit the bill perfectly.

Thanks for the input. I'll be selecting one of these to keep. My blade is my Spyderco Dragonfly or my SAK Classic so I'll need to study up on the tools these 3 models have. I work in IT so maybe one w/the little screwdrivers and such may be best (don't laugh at me if they all do, I've zero experience w/these!)

Nice haul. I've never been able to come across any knives at any yard sales.

Congrats! May they serve you well.

Keep what you want to keep and sell or gift whatever you change your mind about down the road.

Looks like I should start "Garage Sailing" in your neck of the woods.

My opinion as far as Leatherman tools are concerned, take this advice for what it is...you want a multi-tool where you can access the tools with the pliers closed. If you have to open the pliers, just to get a screwdriver or knife blade, it's not very handy, and won't be very user friendly while using it. I purchased several of the Leatherman tools prior to that function being available, and now I only buy ones where I can access the knife blade without folding the handles over...they are much more convenient.
