I stopped by a Dicks sporting goods looking for another folding sharpener, and found out that they were only carrying Smiths sharpeners. Well, I took a look at their knife selection, and came across a nice looking trapper. The Browning Aztec Trapper. Zebrawood and stag, I am unsure of the quality. Steel is 420, J2 I am hoping for because I am sure it is not 420HC. You can guess the country of origin ;).

All in all, not a bad knife. I bought it on a whim, it was on sale at a good price. A beater knife, but the springs seem good. I have been looking at the GEC/Tidioute/Northfield two blade Pioneer trappers, and this sated my appetite for a while. If it doesn't grow on me, I know someone who I can give it to. A great gift for the non knife nut who needs a folder. (Moving away from giving tacticools for gifts these days ;)).

I have been wondering what Dicks has for knives. Ours just opened last week and I haven't been in yet...

Its only about 2 blocks from our Sportsmans Warehouse :D

Their selection isn't that good, I have a much better time at the Gander Mountain a half hour away, or the Cabelas three hours away.

I was just surprised to see a slippy at Dicks.

Our SW got in a big order of Case knives a while back. They had a great variety but I was in there a while back and they were almost gone...

That was good to see. Slip joints are alive and well in Central Oregon :D

I know what its like, going to the store for something and coming out with something else. Its happened a few times when I go to the favorite gun shop for Hoppes and patches and come out with:eek:... well you know what I mean.:D
