My two sheaths from Dwayne and Stacy arrived so I thought I'd take them for a short hike.
These are Dwayne's Kydex-Fusion models. You know, the bomb-proof/built like a tank Kydex-Fusion models that he makes. These things are definately the ticket.
So I'm balancing on two small rocks as I position the sheath with one hand and hold the camera with the other. I let go of the sheath and watch it sit there, nestled on the limb. Look down to check my footing and KAPLOOSH. There it lay at the bottom of a 14" deep water hole.
At first I was like
, Then I was
, Then I was
.
It was down there for about 5 seconds before I could get it out without me going in. I pulled the knife out of the sheath and looked down inside and what do you know, bone-dry.
Yes, at first it disturbed me that it was sitting at the bottom of the water hole. Then it hit me, Dwayne designed and built these sheaths to be able to take ALOT of abuse. To be able to go to and through a war if need be. Not to be pampered and sitting in a safe.
