I just picked these up and man do they seem really aggressive initially. As in way too coarse and abrasive. I'm assuming there's just a bit of break in time involved? At this point I'm getting a pretty damn good mirror finish off the 1200/1600 ceramics, especially with the the balsa strops down to 0.5 micron. I want to add the microfine stones into the sequence for an even higher polish, but right now they are scratching away the mirror finish from the previous stones.

Just curious if anyone else has encountered this or has any tips particular to the microfine WEPS stones.

Thanks!

Some have a "crust" from the firing process... if you rub like stones together, it will smooth them out.

For sequence, I used the coarse microfine, then the 1200/1600, then switched back to the fine microfine.

Yeah I've always heard on these to use the coarse, then the 1200, then 1600, then the fine just like described above. Have never tried them though.

The 1.4 micron /.6 micron stones came with my Pro Pack. The white .6 micron arrived nearly flawless, but the 1.4 were horribly contaminated and nowhere near flat. It took a lot of effort with a diamond plate to make them useable. FWIW
