What defines handmade? The Kalinga package insert describes the knife as handmade. I recall Joe Houser stating 60,000+ Kalingas were made. The Kalinga was introduced about 1970 and a regular catalog item well into the 90's. That's alot of "handmade" knives.

I'm afraid that I'd have to take the statement "hand made" with a grain of salt. I suppose it would depend on your definition of "hand made". Aren't most Bucks at least partially hand made?

Don't think they are hand made, but the 401 Buck Boone and Crocket Kalinga with Rosewood Handle is still availabe new. Just saw one while in Sevierville, TN at the store that claims to be the worlds largest knife store.
