We got in a shipment today, first of three headed this way. A little bit of everything from shop 1. Those waiting on 20 inch sirupatis, 15 inch AKs, and 12 inch AKs will wait no longer. They will hit the air tomorrow.

Here are the specs on the 12 inch Ang Khola. It has been a long time since I've ordered any of these.

blade length is about 7.75 inches
handle is about 4.5 inches
thickness is a bit over 3/8
width is about 1&5/8
weight is just a bit less than one pound.
A very sturdy little knife and very nicely done. These will sell for $125 and I'll pay shipping on this lot.

Rusty, you have one reserved if my records are right. Anybody else wanting one email me. I have four more to sell. Here's a picture.

Thanks for responding so quick to my request for your catalog. What are the chances of listing what you recieved and what they cost here in the forum?

Hi Don:

I now have everything that's listed in the brochure except the 20 inch AK. I hope to see those next month.

My birthday is September 23. Are we close?

Uncle Bill

I haven't gotten it, probably because I just asked for it today and you are mailing it. I just have to wait. Mine is September 15th, pretty close. I have a friend in Reno that might need visiting around then and maybe we can set up a Forum dinner at the same time.

Yeeesss !!!!
I just got my brochure yesterday and now I understand better.
I didn't have any trouble deceideing which one I wanted, ...... Just which one I wanted FIRST !! LOLOL.
I would like the 18" Ang Khola in about a 2 to 2 & 1/4 Lb. weight with the Buffalo Horn handle !!
I think that would be an ideal Kuhkuri for me. I am about 5'9" tall since the back surgeries, but I have large hands and weigh in at 260 Lbs. + or - now.(vbg)
I also want one of the Village Models. Justin can wait, since he doesn't know about these beautiful pieces of wood and/or horn and steel yet !!
I have chopping fever ! What a malady. The only prescription is a new Kuhkuri. You guys can use that one for your wives. Mine is very understanding about my toys. She may give me some trouble over these though. I can see the potential for sure !! Perhaps if I get her one ??? ....(vbeg)

Wow. I like the 12" AK. How good a chopper is it? We need to get Cliff on this one!

Think this would make a good survival tool for my new truck, or should I opt for one of the larger ones (15" or bigger)?

Thanks!

Clay

CD, save money and get yourself the janawar katne first, then you won't need to buy one khukuri after the other after the other. ( Counting the villagers, the 12" AK will be #14 for me in about 3 1/2 months - see, I am cutting down to one a week! )

It's like when I got my M700 Safari Grade Remington 458. Most economical gun I ever owned. So what if solids were 2 bucks apiece? One shot belted me harder than I wanted. Shot two, left me with a headache the rest of the day, and the one time I shot 3 rounds in a single day I ached for a week ( and this was WITH the muzzle break! )

Bill is sending me a 12" AK today, should have it tomorrow. Will let you know what I think. I did get a 15" AK, but gave it to my best friend. The 15" is awesome. I'm hoping the 12" is even a third as impressive. The 12" Sirupati is a previous favorite. Now to decide whether to get a second 12" Sirupati or AK

Guys, I hate to complicate your lives even more, but Uncle Bill just responded to my plea for help with an acute HIKV attack by sending me a khukuri that isn't in the catalog - a gangaola, or ganja wala. You gotta have one of these! 15", blade between a sirupati & BAS in width, very traditional Nepali design w/ wood handle & flat buttcap (a definite ergonomic improvement), scabbard (what kind of leather, Ucle Bill?) with sash buttons instead of frog, and the whole tool kit/tinder pouch layout in addition to a fine chakma & karda. All crafted according to the finest HI standards (with "scrollwork & inlay". TWEET! THUD! (sound of excited whistling and stomping of feet).

Rusty, your 12 incher is being packed right now and will go today. You will have it tomorrow. You are going to be surprised at how sturdy this little knife is -- your blade is about 7/16 thick at the back -- another blade that won't bend!

Clay, we will take care of you.

Uncle Bill

Thanks for the post, Rusty. Point taken

I remember my first gun -- a Marlin 30-30. I was about 13. I don't think I made it through an entire box of shells.

Is the 12" AK horn handled? I can't tell form the picture.

I want some thing to keep in the truck for emergencies, and something smaller would be better 1)to fit in my little Ranger

, and 2) to keep from scaring the sheeple. Don't want it to be so small it can't do normal khukuri chores -- splitting wood, cutting people out of cars, killing alligators, you know, standard fare...

Thanks,

Clay

Horn handle, Clay. For the life of me I keep calling the 12 incher "little" knives but this 12 incher is more than 3/8 inch thick and weighs almost one pound. That is NOT a little knife.

Berk the leather is shrunken water buffalo hide and when I tried to get every Hi scabbard made from it the kamis told me it was simply too time consuming and there was not enough time in the day to make HI scabbards from it. By the way, thanks for kind words. Shop 2 khukuris should all have a very similar buttcap.

Uncle Bill

Far as scaring the sheeple, Clay, I've got a stainless steel sided pocketknife the length of the boy scout knife, except it only has a 2" long L shaped tool sharpened on the inside of the L, and on the other end a 1 & 1/4" scalpel shaped blade. Wouldn't think it would be threatening to anyone, but soon as people ask what that odd looking knife is and I tell them it's a specialized livestock tool used for castrating, the guys especially start acting nervous.

You should tell people that the khukuri is a tool for castrating elephants and other large mammals...

Ahh, relief... waited an hour and went back. The Post Office had it up!

Clay, the 12" AK is voluptuous.

It reminds me of the Rolliflex SL26 camera I got nearly 20 years ago, before 35mm's got downsized. That little 126 film sized thing made me think they must sell a lot of them to pro and highly skilled amateur photographers to give to their wives (so they could "borrow" it back).

I close my eyes and I can picture this thing bobbing down the street on the back of a gal's belt riding just above a marvelous derriere snugly clad in shorts as she jogs by.

Or maybe in the left hand of a young Sean Connery playing 007 ( "Bond, James Bond" ) while a Walther PPK is held in his right.

My shoes are size 8 or 8 1/2, so my hands are probably proportionate. I've got 3/4 to 1" of room left over when I grab the handle ( just the horn part is about 3 & 3/4" long, and front of brass bolster to back of buttcap is about 4 & 5/8ths inch. )

Anyway, this is going in my overnight suitcase along with an old style police postitive or detective special; or a Model 34/35 Beretta in 32 ACP.

Rusty, you are getting poetic! Young gals and 007? Maybe it is the nicotine withdrawal but it sounds like you approve of the 12 incher and we are glad of that.

Uncle Bill

Going to have to compare the 12"AK and the 12" Sirupati when it gets back from Cliff. Also will have to look at the 15" Sirupati, BAS, and 15"AK side by side.

Fact is, it really doesn't matter much to me. I covet all of them.

I like the delivery system we have going, Rusty. I just wish it went as well with everybody.
