I know with Imperial Schrade you never really know more than the fact you just never really know......
As we can't discuss current auctions and although I have no interest whatsoever in either buying or selling the item I am raising my question about, I must phrase my question in general terms....
Q: Has anyone ever heard of Schrade <or Imperial> making Military clasp knives in 1982? We are all familiar with the Camillus U.S. Army folding SS clasp knife, so how could a Camillus knife end up with a Schrade 1982 blade?....was a Schrade employee working over at Camillus for the day and forgot where he was?....did Schrade help Camillus out filling a Military order and forgot to stamp Camillus?.....or....have I just learnt about a whole new line of Schrade Military manufacturing I was previously unaware of....or...are there just some things we never really get to know the complete answer to?..&.....if I was dyslexic I may write something like 343885420172.......Hoo Roo

IIRC, Camillus made those that year for Schrade. How and why Albert wound up with a contract earmarked for Schrade that year, who knows. The MIL-K knives were originally Kingston contracts, but Baer turned them over to Camillus when he acquired full control of that company. Perhaps it was a personal favor to Ronald Reagan. Or SECDEF Weinberger. It is one of those questions that Tom Williams, Dave Swinden or Mr. Gibbs might know the answer to. Or not.

G'Day Codger, unusual to say the least considering Schrade had not made knives for the U.S. Military for some years prior to 1982...<Schrade-Walden days?>...I've had several identical Camillus made U.S. Military clasps...very functional substantial knives, perfect for their Military use of opening cans etc...strange to suddenly be confronted by a Schrade tang stamped knife...I notice no N.Y. or U.S.A. stamp....many thanks for your accurate input as usual...Hoo Roo

If you look hard, you will find the MIL-K818 knives also with Kingston and Imperial stamps.
