So! That's were my knives have been kept incognito for the past 4 weeks!

Thanks for the thread and pics, Dave.

update!
I have had many emails and pm's concerning these pictures!
some from bcci members that were there and some from bcci officals
most were of the idea of that
on the factory tours they did ask us to not take pictures of production areas
that did I sneak these pictures when I was not supposed to !?

these pictures were not taken on one of those tours
what I show here is pictures of the warrantee repair location and were the
famous Buck Spa / Restoration work is done NOT production areas

Joe took me back there to get a picture of Don giving me a knife he made
Joe did not see Don and a tour looked to be coming so he was going to show
how a knife is re-bladed and yes he knew I was taking pictures of him and the spa
to post on this forum so the many that could not make it could see were their knives go
for a spa treatment or repair or restoration ...
-> these pictures were OKed by him!
and the hand you see in the pictures showing how a blade pin is compressed
is Joe Houser's hand not mine.

SO to the OFFICERS of the BCC and all other BCC members
who have contacted me asking of these pictures and
MY NOT FOLLOWING THE RULES...
I DID follow the rules and did not take ANY pictures on the official tour!
I was given a personal tour of the spa area by Joe Houser
I DID NOT sneak in and take these pictures ..

to all those who contacted me to ask about these pictures
i do want to thank you for not posting those questions to this thread ...

Hi Dave,

Thank you for taking these photo's for those of us who had to work and could not make it to the event. Also, thank you to Joe for allowing you to take those photos for us. It was nice to see where our well used Buck treasures go for a Spa treatment.

I took two tours while there a couple weeks ago. I didn't take any pictures on the first tour, but asked specifically if I could take pictures on the second tour. I was told not to take pictures in the laser room, but to feel free to take as many pictures as I wanted anywhere else.

I got a couple pictures of Dan working his magic in the spa, but they didn't turn out nearly as nice or informative as yours did.

Thanks for all the great photos!!

Spa surprise for me:

1. How quickly a 110 comes apart, seconds only! And you have pieces.

2. How much time, care, finesse is involved in buffing/smoothing & sharpening, many many minutes.

3. How quickly a 110 goes back together with a small, hand-held, hammer & pins. Don't blink or you will miss it.

Sidebar: nnspeaking of pins. While sitting outside the cafeteria door @ the factory I noticed the foot wipe doormat had a couple pins in it. One brass & one steel. Not dirt/leaves. Uh uh. Nope. Knife bits. Made me smile to see this and realize how much fun I was having at cutlery Disneyland. :)

I also was told on my tour that I could take pictures any place but the laser room also and the new cnc machines they jest set up this past year
I would have taken pictures of Don in the spa working on a knife but I was studying his work very hard as he is so so fast at it ..
I did take a few pictures of other places in the plant but
for those picts of the spa I explicitly told Joe that I would be posting on the forum and he smiled at that!
as I said I have been contacted by a number of folks about these pictures ...
and it was suggested by a mod of this forum {thank you!}...
to post that I did have permission to take those picts

I say thanks to those that have posted that they enjoyed these slightly informative picts of the
Famous Buck Spa-
the only factory restoration/repair service in the USA that
increases the value of a knife when restored by Don P. !!!

I remember that day Dave. We wandered out to the warranty repair area to find Dan but he was at lunch. We saw a tour coming and I figured I would have to try to repair a 110 for them! FYI, Dan makes it look easier than it is! If you dont do everything just right, the blade rivet wont seal correctly or any other number of bad things could happen. I still marvel at Dan's work! I watch him replace a 110 blade and just shake my head. He always asks me whats wrong? Nothing, just standing here being impressed i tell him.
Dave i am guessing that some of the pm's you got might have been worried members who didnt know you had permission. I did tell everyone at the kick off banquet no pictures and they probably figured you might put the club in a bad light with Buck by showing these pics, not knowing I made this exception with you. By the way, I doubt the club could ever be seen in a bad light by Buck!!!

Thank You for the pic's Dave  Man, what I wouldn't give to watch them Buck's being worked on in that really cool shop area! I would love to just hear all them machines singing their songs with their motors humming and stikers stiking and grinders grinding You guys that get these tours are sure lucky!

THANKS JOE!
yes I got several emails and pms on those pictures from those there for the 25th ...
most were jest polite questions of did sneak them .. did i break the rules ..
some "worried members" ( good term) did said that it did not reflect well on me (or the club..)
i did said that these were taken with your knowledge of posting them so those that could not
be there could see were Don's magic takes place on a broken knife...

I get told at times that I push at the limits of politeness on things I love
most times don't see the rules or understand them the way others might...
but this time was not the case...
so again Joe
thank you for stepping up for me !

Dave and all,

I would like to make a moderator comment.
I would like to brag on the forum members here on the Buck forum. Whereas it did appear at first that Dave did a sneaky photo session and it was noticed by those attending the 25th who were warned not to take general tour photos. Dave was contacted by private message by them and no rough talk was made directly on the thread. I think that earns a tip of my hat and a bow to all the good BUCK forum members. Lets keep this going as a knife information 'SPA' and not as a forum of trash. Salute....300

PS But please continue to help me should something go adrift.
