ever found? It's been what, eight years now since he had 12 prototype knives stole from his luggage on a flight? Surely by now at least one of them must have been sighted? Anyone have any info?

Dave

I don't know if they were ever found but I am glad to see I am not the only one who has wondered about this occasionally. I had no idea it has been 8 years so you must be even more OCD than I am..... Good to know I am not the worst. :p

Man, losing a day here and there is one thing, losing years is another.
So I guess there's been no word. Kind of weird , you'd think the theif would want to sell them..

Dave,

the way the info of the theft got around i think it woudl be tricky to get themsold

i too wander tho and bring this up from time to time as i talk with ppl aou the knife world and how tight nit it is

maybe one day the knives will show up at kens house un harmed and with no ? asked
so the ? is who has the pictures are the missing knifes (i have lost the pic since swaping computers )

The knives never surfaced, United airlines wouldn't help Tsa was useless as were the Police. Seems no one would help . They checked fingerprints on the case but wouldn't inform me on what they found. I filed a law suit against United but after spending considerable resources fighting them to no avail i thought it best I cut my losses.
Guys, Buy a GPS locator and put it in your knife case even if you ship your knives. Remember you are on your own. None of the folks you think will help will. It's up to you.
With GPS locators you can track your package anytime, yourself and know where they are within 3 feet . I recommend a pelican case .Put heavy locks on it and place your GPS locator under the foam so no one can see it . I also recommend breaking your knives up into two shipments with a locator in each case. Buy collector insurance.

Ken,

I'm sorry to hear they haven't been found, or that no one even tried to help. Your advice is excellent, and I'm sure a lot of guys will do as you mentioned. On the brighter side, you might notice a post above this one, titled 'keershaw Leel found.' We tried to pass it on to you, but didn't know how to get in touch.

Cheers,

Dave

I remember reading about the theft in one of the blade magazines. It sucks that no one would help or even admit responsibility, and of course insurance is next to useless. I like the GPS idea but if I ever do go to a show as a maker, I think I will probably drive if possible. Although border crossings may be fun. :-)
