Which of the west coast shows (CA,NV) are the best and when are they?
Well, if you just come up with the best show I can track down when it happens.
Help me plan my next vacation. Don't suggest the Blade show. I know it's the best, but it would take all my money just to get there. I don't see me taking the wife across the US just to LOOK at knives.

Thanks!

four major shows on the west coast:
Blade Show West in IRVINE, SEPT 20th or thereabouts
BACKA Show in Palo Alto the weekend after the above
OKCA in Eugene in 12 days
Solvang Show the weekend after that.
There is another one in Pasadena or something but I have never been so dont know anything about it. Usually in Feb I think.
Also the VEGAS Classic, usually the last weekend in Jan.

Thanks Tom, Of the CA/NV shows which would you say is the best? Or at least the top two.:)

Off to do research...

Tom,
I have been to the last two Blade Show Wests and that is a very nice show. I have also been to the last two Southern California Blades Knife Expo's in Buena Park and those were both very organized and had tons of great knives.
I am planning on going up to the Solvang knife show on Sunday the 28th of April as I have heard this is a great show also. I have not gone to the shows in the bay area or out of state. www.scblades.com is a good website for the knife expo, www.nordicknives.com is a nice website for the Solvang show and you can go to the krause publications website www.krause.com for information on the blade show west.

Good luck and happy knife hunting.
Mike

I very much enjoyed the BAKCA show as well as the Las Vegas Classic. I haven't been to any others in CA or NV so I can't comment otherwise.

The California Knife Expo (Buena Park) has always been a great show.

The one in February of this year was no exception.

Quality stuff- all the great makers.

Yes thats the one I have listed that I thought was in Pasadena, I think they used to move it around quite a bit. A fairly large show with more factory stuff than custom, actually went to it once quite a while back.
