We pulled it off and went from the SHOT Show in Las Vegas straight to the class. Woke up in the desert and headed right to the high elevation mountains of Wrightwood for some winter survival.

The students kicked ass…the weather was better than we expected.

Reza and I were joined by Ali and Kyle from the Alabama class of 2011. Ben from the first West Coast class came up to hang and we all had a good time.

Very cool Reuben! thanks for the photos, how was the SHOT Show? Guess we see where you place your priorities... :D

Wow, awesome thread!

Great steel and a bunch of cool skills you guys worked on.

The pictures certainly do the talking, but I'd love to read a description of what was going on.

Thanks for posting.

Great pics! How did the SOL bag hold up in use?

It was great. Warm and waterproof. I really like the soft warm feel to the material and the generous foot pocket. It is marketed as an emergency bivy, but this could easily be a full time bivy, especially if you are going to use it away from rocks and gravel.

The guys at Adventure Medical Kits got it to me in time for the class. It is due out in Feb.

Looks like a really good time, im jealous. Its too wet out here right now for much outdoor fun.

What type of pack is this? Looks great

That's the duluth bushcrafter pack...

Great post! Thanks for sharing the pics!!! I'm also curious how the bivy held up and overall impressions of the bushcrafter pack!

It wasn’t mine, but it looked cool. About 5-pounds empty!

Looks like a awesome time. Is the new esee fire starter out now? And I would love to have a couple of those emergency bivys. Did they five you a msrp or anything?
