Posting to get some info, any info, on this little hatchet I picked up. "Drop Forged Steel Made in West Germany MIBRO" I know Mibro was a Canadian company that imported German made knives but I can't find anything on their hatchets. This one has a stag handle that is pretty jacked up but may be saveable. There may be a bolt going though the tang holding it on. No idea if this handle is original. Haven't removed the tape to see how bad it is.
I usually collect knives so I have no idea what to do with it. Even willing to part with it if the handle proves to be beyond my small skills.

A beautiful piece, for sure.
If the original handle was with leather rings, like the Estwing hatchets, it is not difficult to remake the handle.
I made it with a remake of a pilot's knife.

Yes, the Mibro hatchets I've seen with stacked handles are very nice. But I think replacing the handle in that way is above my skill level. Great job on that knife handle.

very good all that! I see that we can reuse the handle by reshaping the deer antler by refining (tapering) it towards the head using epoxy maybe brass or copper tubes to make an axe with style

It's split, but were it not that could be a good idea.

I might be able to fill it with epoxy putty. I still haven't pulled off the tape as I'm not sure how much effort I want to put into it. It's pretty dependent on my limited skill level. Still thinking I might get rid of it in a trade.
