Th old one, is it good and what type of metal is it?

They're great knives, and may be carbon steel if they're older. Not sure if the later ones switched to stainless or not. There's also a year code on some of them, with letters.

If you find one that's in good shape, with a good original sheath, for a good price, I'd jump on it.
