I was recently given a Barlow stamped "WESTERN (over)USA)" on the main blade. The handles are either stained horn or plastic. My problem is that I cannot find any Western brand Barlow style knives on the Camillus site. I thought Camillus was now making Western Brand knives.

Any ideas as to age and what the handle is made of would help.

sbissel,
CAMILLUS does own and make WESTERN brand knives. There have been many different patterns of WESTERN's made in the past, and I will have our Historian look into that for you, but CAMILLUS is going into Holiday shutdown from this afternoon until Jan. 2, so it may take awhile to get you an answer. If I can, I'll see if Tom Williams can answer anything over the holidays.

Thanks for the interest!

The Western Barlow Knife (Model #822D) was
most likely made in the 1960's or later. I
found this knife in a 1964 Western catalog
and the retail price was $2.50. This knife
features a clip and pen blades, saw pattern
handle and measures 3 3/8" in length. The "D"
most likely indicates a Delrin handle.
