Howdy!

I just picked up a Western Cutlery BC 85 Hunter model.

I am wondering if someone can inform me of the history of the knife, and any other blade shapes that may have been available.

It has a...

- Nylon over Leather sheath, integral belt loop.
- It is fixed in the sheath via a snap, one part of which is in the sheath, the other part of which is in the handle.

I get the sense that this knife was made, prior to Camillus taking Western over. When was that?

You're not going to get an answer here, unless one of the forum members knows. Evidently, the company doesn't have time to bother with such matters. Providing answers to questions like this doesn't make them any money, but the failure to do so could cost them some.

Are you a fan of these old Western?

No, but I do have an older W49 Bowie, if you might be interested. It's in perfect condition with the box and papers. The box is kinda' rough though.

It is not a Western Knife. It looks more like a Gerber.
