Western fixed blade

I had never seen one like this so I bought it at the gun/knife show today. Kinda strange, with Becker type blade coating and marked "W36" which would indicate cocobolo, rather than stacked leather for the handle. Anyone know anything about this?

I've seen one with a plain blade but never a coated one,I don't really know much about it but nice knife!
