So I was being good and had resisted the effects of HIKV for three months and had not picked up any blades. Then I happened to see a very nice western foxy folly in the for sale forums here which called out to me that I had to have it. Resistance to HIKV is futile. Also does not help that ever since I saw my first foxy folly pics with its somewhat distinctive leaf shape I have wanted one :D

16.5" and 23oz with a 1/4" thick blade and a walnut handle

I am one of the first to admit that currently I much prefer the smoother handles over the more traditional ring ones which is another reason this one called out. Also love the grain in the walnut handle. Wish there could be more handles done like this

What is also nice is that the western ones come with an actual usable companion knife of a decent size. I could actually see quite a few uses of it

Overall I am very happy to have picked this one up. It is going to make the choice of what to take out camping this summer even harder lol :D

Congrats Pyro-That is a beautiful blade(and handle).Personally, I wouldn't use that one as a camper...:D

It would not be taken on a heavy use trip I have other ones I can use for that but it will get used. I don't believe in having ones that will not get used for the most part. Even my custom folders were used as edc knives at times

Nice blade - congratulations. I have several knives I keep in the safe that don't get used except for maintenance as they continue to go up in value. They are sort of like having more than one black powder pistol - nice to have and hold. The nice aspect of the HI Kuk's is they are a quality, useful blade that is relatively inexpensive. You can buy more than one, use it and not feel like you are going to lose money. However on occasion you run into one that is just too sweet to take out and use.

Man, that one is gorgeous. Love the nice "thin" 1/4" spine. Really accents the build, IMHO.

Wow, that is beautiful... I really like it. Are all the foxy follies more of a western style? I'm kinda new to HI and still learning the models.

The FF comes in a traditional handle as well. The "Western" nomenclature means it has the smooth ring less handle and a larger companion knife. Pretty sweet bridge between the traditional khuks and something more familiar to western hands:)
