Hi All,

Looking for a little input from our members that have experience with Japanese style blades. Found this set that looks pretty good and am wondering if there are any drawbacks to this style. Looking for any input or comments on using this on a "live" blade. Thanks in advance for any help.

I posted, not sure why it didn't take.

Very expensive, compared to antique and very cool sets, I might pass.(and I like Patrick)

Best Regards,

When you see these in person you will not be disapppointed. Though I have little experience with actual use of the traditional Japanese swords, I can say these were made with use in mind. They were designed for the modern swordsman. If you want a cool look and not have to worry about high maintenance this set will do nicely.

I like the work, generally. I have a commissioned piece by him, a round shakudo tsuba with a cherry blossom pierced design. I got it several years ago, at the time the polish wasn't up to what it should be, but I trust his work must have improved. I would do work again with him given the right occasion.

I like the idea of Western-made fittings on Western-made sowrd. My Howard Clark katana is fitted with a tsuba and menukis made by Murad Sayen, who was Don Fogg's partner at the time of Kemal.

Thanks for all the replies. This set's pretty cool to my taste so there's no problem there, and it's Furrer damascus so that makes it cooler... :D Those Sayen fittings are some of my favorites, btw, the tsuba especially.
