Hello,

I'm sure this will be a shot in the dark, but does anyone have catalogs with drawings or photos of 2-piece stag handled hunting knives using brass pins from the mid-late 30s just prior to WWII.

I'm attempting to learn the manufacturer of a knife owned by my Dad and of which I have a distant (but basically useless) photo of it taken in 1946.

I got a knife on Ebay which I thought was going to be the same model knife as my Dad's, but it turned out to be a mid 60's Sabre Solingen 131 model of an American Knife Co. (Germany).

If anyone is curious and wants to help me identify the maker of my Dad's knife, I have pictures I can send you of the knife I just acquired which looks and feels just like the pre-WWII knife.

Thanks,

Bob Marshall

wwtbob,
We have the guru of knife identifiaction, Mr. Bernard Levine right here @ bladeforums under the dicussion forum catogory:

Knife Collecting & Identification with Benard Levine.

Questions submited should accompany clear close up photographs. However, in your case it may not be necessary.

Maybe one of our very cool moderator's will see this and move it over their for you. :)
