Hello folks! Just cruised in. I am a shooter and reloader, dabbled in each for the last 25-30 years or so. Always had a couple of hunting knives and a pocket knife. I lived and worked in Boulder during the 60's and bought a couple of the then current Western hunting knives. Lately, I have become enamored of this era and earlier Western knives. I get the idea they are near the bottom of the collecting chain, but be that as it may, that seems to be my tickle. Cursory web searches have not afforded me much information on these knives; and I am hoping some, one, a few of you may be able to point me towards some discussion and info on Western Cutlery and its' products from the 50's and 60's. Thanks ahead of time and don't cut yourself.

Welcome to the forums!

If you have not yet discovered Bernard Levine's forum, here at Blade Forums, you may have some response there. Collecting something when it is at the bottom of the "collecting chain," is the best time to do it. Low demand = low prices! Have you tried EBAY, and some of the other auctions to find them?

I am sure you will be recieving lots of good info here, and Mr. Levine's forum is found under the "general" category. I tried to be fancy and make a link like everyone else does around here, but I guess I don't know how.

Anyway, welcome to the forums.

Howard welcome, you may also want to try over on the Camillus Forum. Western Knives are now a part of Camillus and you may pick up some information over there.

Howard,
Welcome to BF.com!!!!!

I see that you have already gotten a few good ideas for research/info on the older Western's, but, if you are interested in seeing some of their new products that are available, then check out C.R.Specialties at www.crknives.com.

Good Luck!!
