Hello,
It is certainly been awhile since I've been on this forum, but I'm in a bit of a pickle.
I have four 01 knives that need a heat treat, and while I was going to do the heat treating myself, I find that I no longer have the time. I was wondering, does anyone know of a heat-treating service around here (Buffalo, in particular) that can heat treat 01 tool steel.
All of the sources I'm finding will absolutely (For lack of a better term) screw me in terms of price. My margins aren't high enough to constitute a 65 dollar heat treat for only four knives, and the only places around here that I've contacted charge far too much.
Really it doesn't have to be limited to Western NY, if anyone knows of a god heat treating service in general, please share!
