I took this picture today of this Western knife that I own. I thought y'all might want to see it.

I bought this knife new a year or two ago. I haven't used it yet but I really like it, even though it is an inexpensive knife. I do find the black coating on the blade strange for this style of knife. I really like the sheath.

They probably still are. I got this one from a discount sporting supply catalog.

Very nice! That looks like the old "Montana" model if I remember correctly, one of my favorites. I thought they were discontinued a while ago, where did you find it?

Sportsman's Guide catalog? I think it was called. Amongst the junk knives it had scattered here and there inside I noticed this American made Camillus. I liked it and the price was low so I ordered it. I still like it.

I use to have one of those back int he early 90's, late 80's. Had a satin finish blade, cost me about 22.00 or so?

Never enough attention gets paid to the older, classic styled Camillus knives. I guess someone in Camillus marketing got bit by the 'Tactical' bug and decided the blade should be darkened.
Thanks for posting as always, good pics, good topics,

Phil

It is the Montana model. But with a black coated blade. And I did buy it from the Sportsman's Guide catalog. I ran across the invoice a couple days ago.
