First off, I apologize if this has been covered or if some are offended by the insignificance of this topic. However, I have searched high and low for someone who carries wetterlings in stock, so that I might have them pick out a good one for me. I am limited to an online purchase as, they aren't available in my area. I cannot find a company that carries them in stock, OR that I am able to contact. If anyone can recommend a distributer where I can buy one, I will be eternally grateful!

Thanks Cyblade, but they don't have it in stock. I'm looking at the Wetterlings Hunters axe or product #SAW20H. I cannot seem to find it anywhere.

I'm not bashing Bensbackwoods. However. I've called and left a message with my phone number to see if i could have them pick an axe out for me, and I received no callback and tried a couple other times with no answer. Ever. I tried an email last week to which I received a one line response that they'd be back in the office today. Still no answer and no response to a second email. I frankly don't like dealing with distributors I cannot reach. If you decide to run a business you should be accessible and in this economy during one of the busiest times of the year, you bet I'll pay more for the item from someone I can speak to in person so I can get exactly what I want. For whatever reason this axe is popular and hard to get. I went to the extra effort based on reccomendations I read here. At this juncture it looks like a wasted effort.

Distributors who carry this axe and don't show stock, don't actually carry it. I may as well just buy a Gransfors Bruks at this point just to save myself the trouble.

Maybe they didn't call you back because they don't want to waste time handpicking an axe for you. It's a service that you want, that they don't offer.

I've ordered two axes from them. Both showed up within 3 days of my order, including one friday order with monday delivery. You sure sound like you are bashing them.

Ben is great so far. Ive ordered three times, all orders arrived same week. (Mon to thurs).

However, since he is a small operation, he is extremely bogged down with orders due to the holiday season.

I've had no trouble with ben's, I sent them a money order and the axe was delivered the next week.....

It seems simple as that then. If they can't fill the bill, is it too much to return my call or email so that I might still return to them for other business? I want fast reliable communication as well as customer service that can deliver a product I'll be satisfied with rather than one that I will be returning because it doesn't meet my specifications. Important to note is how we each have different expectations. I admittedly have high expectations. I value the worth of each dollar I make and spend. Some are satisfied with Bensbackwoods.com and I wasn't. I hope folks chalk it up to that rather than taking it personal.

Problem solved. Wisementrading.com took care of me beautifully. I really do enjoy supporting small businesses. My family runs a small business and I understand the necessary components to running one. Wisementrading.com fits my bill.

Glad I could help you out Iboschi. I have had them handpick one for me and I was happy with the price, service and end result. enjoy your new axe.

I will I will! The fellow I spoke with told me they had over 50 the specific model axe I inquired about, in stock! I was so worked up I ordered two different models from them. I figured at that price I was getting two Wetterlings for $100, while the GB I was initially interested was $150, so the deal is: Buy two save $50 (or something like that). Just glad to have them ordered finally.

If you check out garden/logging supply places look for axes made by husqvarna, all of their axes are made by wetterlings as they have the saw stamp and are price the same or below wetterlings. I got a husqvarna limbing axe which is the wetterling small forest axe for 60$.
