Has anyone had the chance to check out the Wetterling's double bit throwing axe. It looks like a beast with the double bit 6" blades.

a buddy of mine got one. it throws really well. it's heavier than the regulation throwing axe minimum by a good bit. the head alone is probably a bit over 3 pounds. that's not a complaint; I find that heavier axes are easier to throw, personally.

good looking head, although either the eye is off or the bits are asymmetrical on my friend's example. we had to rehang it, because it just looked crooked and haft was slipping a good bit. once I got the head off, I realized it was hung upside down (the fatter part of the eye was down instead of up). after working on it for quite a while, I gave up on getting it straight. that's why I made the eye-is-off-or-bits-are-assymmetrical comment. just couldn't make it all square. however, with the head on right-side-up, it is nice and solid.

sharp as a razor out of the box. nice steel, excellent handle.

I don't know that I'd be willing to pay retail for it. not sure I'd pay that much for any thrower. they just take too much abuse.
